Personal development & Community integration
Volunteering / Community activities- Services centred on personal fulfillment, skills acquisition as well as the social and community commitment;
- This program is the cornerstone of the Centre: by using their creativity and by giving their time generously, volunteers contribute to the well-being of the MFRC and help the Centre with the organization of its activities.
Information and Welcome services for newcomers
- Services that are aimed at the newly arrived families to help them make their questions, documentation, meetings with members of the community and more.
Employment & Education
- Job search and orientation services for military spouses and teens;
- Information on Québec’s school programs, programs outside of Québec and specialized education programs;
- Second language courses and workshops for adults.
Child / Youth development and Parenting support
Services that support parents in their caregiving role and focus on the development of leadership for children and youth.
Childhood- Activities to foster language development, autonomy, sociability and creativity;
- Activity groups, parents/ kids workshops, preschooler workshops, courses and more.
Youth- Activities to acquire new skills while encouraging leadership development;
- What every babysitter should know courses, general first aid, youth advisory committee, interactive workshops, Teen Loft and more.
Prevention / Support / Intervention
- Emphasis on strengthening the capacities of individuals and families;
- Education and prevention services to help in the adaptation of the military way of life;
- Evaluation and orientation, short term counselling, crisis support and more.
Family separation and reunion
- Outreach, information and support services to help families cope with the absence of the military member;
- Resources and adapted support to fulfill the needs of separated families before, during and after the time of separation.
Director Military Family Services (DMFS)DMFS is responsible for the management of the Military Family Services program (MFSP) on behalf of the Department of National Defence/Canadian Forces.
